About Me

 

Aloha, my name is Asheemo (KODA) Daily, and I am running for the Hawaii House of Representatives for District 48. As a dedicated young adult and a proud member of the Green Party, my journey has always been centered around community, sustainability, and empowerment.

 

Youth Violence Prevention

Our future is primarily dependent on how well we prepare and empower the youth today. I am deeply committed to supporting programs that address youth violence. By fostering safe environments and providing resources for our young people, we can build a foundation for a brighter, more harmonious future.

 

Supporting Local Agriculture and Farmers

I believe in returning the people back to the land and making Hawai'i sustainable again. Preserving agricultural land and supporting farming practices are crucial to our island's self-sufficiency and economic resilience. By backing local agriculture, we can ensure that our communities thrive and remain connected to our rich heritage.

 

Community Disaster Preparedness

Climate change is here, and the tragedy in Lahaina teaches us the importance of being proactive and prepared. I advocate for community-wide disaster preparedness education to ensure that our residents are equipped to handle natural disasters. Preparedness can save lives and mitigate the devastating impacts of climate change.

My career has been enriched by a variety of skills and achievements:

 

Leadership: Proven ability to lead community initiatives and organize events that address key local issues.

 

Advocacy:  Strong advocate for environmental protection, Indigenous rights, and social justice, effectively raising awareness and driving change.

 

Collaboration: Skilled in working with local organizations, like Wisdom Circles Oceania, to create impactful programs and initiatives.

 

Policy Development: Experience in researching, developing, and proposing policy recommendations tailored to the needs of District 48.

 

Communication: Excellent public speaking and communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse audiences and conveying complex issues clearly.

 

Community Engagement: Effective in building relationships with residents, understanding their concerns, and mobilizing community support. Some of my notable achievements include successfully organizing community events promoting environmental sustainability and youth empowerment, collaborating with Wisdom Circles Oceania to create art-based programs for community healing, and spearheading advocacy campaigns that raised awareness on deep sea mining and climate change. I have also developed and proposed actionable policy recommendations addressing local issues like military leases and invasive species, and mentored local youth through educational workshops and volunteer programs.

 

Personal Touch- 

A fun and personal aspect of my life is my love for creating music, surfing, and expressing pure unconditional love. These passions not only bring joy to my life but also reflect my personality and commitment to our community's betterment. Together, let's build a future where our youth are empowered, our lands are preserved, and our communities are prepared for whatever challenges come our way.
